LAWN CHAIR LUMINATA – WATERFRONT SERIES 08
The inaugural Lawn Chair Luminata – Waterfront Series 08 brings together arts and entertainment, the waterfront and the Downtown core to create the perfect venue for all families and friends to enjoy. This collaboration of theatre, music, film and art all set in Heritage Park in Downtown Barrie, is an outdoor series scheduled throughout the summer that is accessible to all. Come down and enjoy Lawn Chair Luminata and of course bring your lawn chair!

Come and hear some of Canada’s best Jazz and Blues recording artists at the Centre Stage in Heritage Park.

Doug Scholes, (This is) What happens when a thing is maintained (?), Part III
This site specific installation of beeswax bricks in Heritage Park is part of an exhibition by Scholes at the MacLarenArtCentre from June 12 to August 31. Scholes will be present to interact with the public and the art on site from June 12 to June 20. Sponsored by Peter Koetsier & Wendy Wingfelder


Free Outdoor Films:

Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy a free movie under the stars at Heritage Park. Presenting: The Princess Bride on Wednesday June 25, Groundhog Day on Wednesday July 16 and E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial on Wednesday August 20. Starts at dusk (approx. 9 PM), weather permitting. Check website for rain dates.

Free Concert Nights:

GrassRoots ON Tour presents Live music on the outdoor stage, featuring Little Miss Higgins, Greg Hobbs, Patrick Brealey and the Knives and more top Canadian talent. Performances begin at 8 PM.

Shakespeare in the Park: A Midsummer Night’s Dream:

Come and experience one of William Shakespeare’s most beloved works, in one of Barrie’s most beloved outdoor venues!
